The surface of each item is covered with an epoxy resin which is waterproof and heat resistant. It should not be subjected to direct high temperatures such as cooking utensils nor is it dishwasher safe. The surface is tough, yet flexible (not brittle and prone to shattering upon impact). The warmer the environment, the more quickly impressions can appear and after items are removed, will disappear.
After continuous use, a touchup with a hair dryer should remove any dimples on the serving surface. Run a low heat across the surface for a few seconds and you will see the dimples disappear.
Furniture polish or a mild window cleaner will prolong the life of the surface and clean smudges.
